Parallel Learning

Welcome Exchange has pioneered a new way to promote cohesion and engagement.

Known as Parallel Learning, two classes are run simultaneously and then brought together to learn and interact as one. Attendees learn about another culture, and then experience it first hand.

We have developed Parallel Learning courses for clients across the UK including local councils, fire and rescue, the police service and private sector employers.

In each case the overall goal has been to increase understanding between different groups within the community or workplace, with a focus on practical usage.

Organisations learn more about the different communities they serve or employ, with a focus on concrete outcomes e.g. Polish vocabulary relevant to fire safety, or new links with the Muslim community.
